These are Windows Media Files (wmv) and are best seen with Windows Media Player, version 10 or above. Note: some of these are very large files that may take a long download if you don't have a high speed Internet connection. If you choose a large file and have a slow dial-up connection, be patient and try to keep your Internet connection intact. In such cases, it may be more convenient to save the desired file to your computer and play it later. To do so, right click on the desired level of quality, select "Save Target As" and select the location you want it saved to. You will get a simpler display of the download process and can monitor it easier.
Guide for your PC: If you experience a little "jerking" during the slide show, it is because your PC is slightly deficient for the chosen quality. In that case, download a lower quality level version.
Low (320x240) Lowest quality. Play on computers with 700MHZ processor and 256MB of RAM or better. Med (640x480) Reasonable quality. Play on computers with 1.7MHZ processor and 256MB of RAM or better. Hi (800x600) Better quality. Play on computers with 2.4MHZ processor and 256MB of RAM or better. VERY HI (1024X768) Best quality. Play on computers with 3.2MHZ processor, 512 MB of RAM or better.

The Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge is a 15,500 acre channeled scabland habitat managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is located near Cheney, Washington, about a 30 minute drive south from Spokane. Most of the land is restricted, preventing humans from interfering from the natural order of indigent species of plants and animals. There is also an active support group, "Friends of Turnbull N.W.R." which can be reached by email at: fw1turnbullnwr@fws.gov.

The Hubble telescope is one of mankind's marvels. At no other time in history have we been able to study space in such detail. The exciting thing about astronomy is that we are only now beginning to explore space and we can already do it from the comforts of our living (or computer) rooms. This slide show is a collection of what I think are a few of the more spectacular photos taken by Hubble. In some cases, a few of the photos are a compilation of multiple views, but I have not retouched any of them. They are as they can be seen in the photo gallery on the Hubble website. These are some of the largest files I have created. I don't apologize. The subject matter is also large.
